From the Quarries

As the northern hemisphere settles into winter, here in Australia we are heading into the height of summer—an arrangement that makes Christmas a season of Test Cricket, heat, bright light, and the mild absurdity of festive traditions conducted in shorts rather than coats. To mark the Christmas and New Year period, From the Quarries will be running a short “Summer Season,” during which I will be re-publishing a curated selection of earlier videos over the next couple of weeks, offering an opportunity to revisit material from the archive or catch episodes you may have missed first time around.

This brief interlude also coincides with the release of a new channel trailer, ‘Welcome to From the Quarries’, now live on the channel homepage, which sets out the purpose and scope of the project for both new and returning viewers. Normal programming will resume in the new year; until then, I hope this antipodean summer pause provides some thoughtful viewing over the festive break.
