This sadly all too brief text was written by Rabbi H. Geffen, 32°, F.P.S. and was first published in The New Age in February 1950. It lifts the veil, ever so slightly, on the fascinating and ancient traditions of Esoteric Freemasonry. If you have content that you’d like to add to the archive, join the…

Just for fun. A new series of #shorts. These are short videos of under 1 minute duration each describing a different ‘species’ taken from Medieval Bestiaries. The text and illustrations are taken from primary sources where possible. Not much detail is possible in 54 seconds, but I hope you find them informative and/or amusing!

A new Video! I stumbled across this interesting little paper online here: SRA 76 OCTOBER 2013 MASONIC MAGAZINE Published on Sep 29, 2013 (The Monthly Masonic Magazine of Lodge Stirling Royal Arch No. 76). In a semi-serious manner it puts forward the argument that Stonehenge was originally a Masonic initiation site! Obviously there’s not much…

This is a long and complex lecture by the worthy and estimable Brother F. de P. Castells from 1914. As a result of its complexity, it will be published in two parts. This first section treats the Masonic significance of the numbers 3, 5 and 7. Part two will examine the symbolism of the number…

Two new videos have been uploaded to the site this week. Freemasonry and the Druids: This video is a two-parter. The first section is a modern short essay by the redoubtably named Bro. Stanley K Sproule, which was published in 1983. This gives a typically contemporary and clearheaded view of the purported relationship between Druidism…

A new Video! There was a clear winner of our YouTube poll held during the week. ‘The Mystical Quest in Freemasonry‘ won exactly 50% of the votes cast. Thanks to all who submitted their votes – the response was far greater than I anticipated, so I think I’ll try it again in future! This presentation…

A new Video! This video is a chapter from ‘The Antiquity of the Holy Royal Arch’ which was Published by F. de P. Castells in 1927. In it he examines in detail some of the astronomical and astrological symbolism underpinning the Royal Arch degree. I have redacted some small portions of the text which I…
