The Mystical Quest in Freemasonry

A new Video!

There was a clear winner of our YouTube poll held during the week.

The Mystical Quest in Freemasonrywon exactly 50% of the votes cast. Thanks to all who submitted their votes – the response was far greater than I anticipated, so I think I’ll try it again in future!

This presentation is a text which I believe to be by A.E. Waite, although my copy is both undated and anonymous. If it is by Waite, then it will most probably date from the first decades of the twentieth century.

As it was quite lengthy and complex, I have made some edits for the purposes of clarity. Nevertheless, all of the words are Waite’s own. In any case it is a challenging and enthralling topic. I hope you receive some inspiration from it.

    Hi Brother David,

    My name is Vincenzo

I have been a Mason for 6 years,
And have been literally begging for this sort of presentations to be made available to all Brethren interested.
However in that short time, I have the priviledge to belong to several Orders, some quite some distance away.

This is exactly what should be portrayed as the real face of Freemasonry, if we are to attract long lasting prospective candidates.
The lures of Charity, Community work, socialising etc…
Soon wears off on new Masons of today, as there are better institutions, organisations and clubs, available to them out there.
There are far too many Brothers (New and well Seasoned) who shy away from the Esoteric and Mystical aspects of Freemasonry and who also discourage those interested, which in my opinion and 100% in agreance with Waite’s: “The Mystical Quest in Freemasonry”
Is the absolute core of Freemasonry,
Freemasonry is (or should be) in my opinion, the modern day version of: The Antient School of Mysteries, which was available to like minded Men, in ancient times in Alexandria for one.

This, albeit in a public suitable version, should be the Image of Freemasonry, we should propose to the world, a way – in the path to self discovery, not only self improvement.

I believe that, in this day and age of super-materialistic societies (much of the world)
    Who apparently have it all,
The one thing that comes as a price for the wealth enjoyed, is: Spiritual Drection.
And not the type provided by Religions, as they are also in decline.

Freemasonry is and has always been the answer.

I couldn’t thank you enough for all of your wonderful, enjoyable, educational and best of,
    Inspirational Presentations…
But most of all for this one, and I hope many more like it, will come…

    The truth is Within,
    He who seeks it,
    Shall find it.

As the Master asks the candidate:
Where were you first made a Freemason ?
    In my heart!

Your work is immensely appreciated by those like myself,
    Thank you.

    In Gratitude,
    Vincenzo

      Hi David,

I Placed two comments which are the same, But in the second one I took out the name and number of my mother Lodge and my surname.

I did that because of respect to the Brethren.

Could you please not publish the first one? And if you deem it necessary, you can omit my name altogether from my comment.

I thank you for your understanding.

      Fraternally, Vincenzo
