An Essay on the Mysteries and the True Object of the Brotherhood of Free Masons

This presentation is the 1862 translation of the anonymous 1774 French publication Essai sur les mysteres et le veritable objet de la confrerie des Francs-Macons.

It takes the form of a letter to an unnamed gentleman outlining both the misconceptions held and true aims of the Craft. It is a fascinating glimpse into the world of 18th century masonry and its arguments are as true today as they were then.

    This was an exultant presentation.
It was a bit much to take in in one go, maybe it could have been made into two parts?
I will certainly need to watch it again.

    1. Thanks for the lovely feedback. Yes, it’s a lot to take in, but I couldn’t find a logical place to split the video, so just let the argument run its course! Amazing how relevant a 250 year old work still is today.
