From the Quarries

A few months ago we produced a community video addressing the question “Why Stonemasons”. This was a great success and came up with some really fascinating insights. I think it’s high time we put our collective minds towards another topic, so tonight’s video ‘Freemasonry in the Modern World’ has been chosen to put the audience in the right frame of mind.

The question for the next community video will be ‘Where to from here’?

After more than 300 years of established and documented tradition, where should Freemasonry look to in the future?

We live in challenging and fast-changing times. By asking the question ‘Where to from here’ I am looking for your input about what you think the Craft needs to do to remain both relevant and useful in a post-modern, post-capitalist world.

The author of tonight’s paper put a lot of thought into this question and came up with some radical and challenging ideas, but I’m not going to share those with you just yet. Instead, the following presentation deals with his introduction to the topic,and looks at the contemporary environment in which the Craft finds itself, and how this differs from the world even 50 years ago.
